Happy Holidays! I am so glad that you are joining us on our Sock Monkey Blog Hop... If you didnt start at the beginning you can click here...and start at the Eyelet Outlet blog! Arent these brads just the cutest!!!! I just love them... the best thing is that you can use them on all kinds of projects.... So far this season I have used them on tags, scrapbook layouts and cards.... Now today I have the cutest handmade headband... I made the rosettes from strips of fabric and then I layered the monkey on top with a little baker's twine...

Best part is that I made 2 one for my daughter and one for you... These can be worn by babies, kids or even us adults (yeah I have stolen Karianne's a couple times to wear myself)... So leave a comment to win... I will pick a winner Sunday night 11:59pm PST....

I want to share the challenge from Scrapping Everyday Miracles....

Christmas Miracles

Oh how I love the holidays... the food, the weather and the Christmas cheer. It is a special time of year. Even though there is a lot of hustle and bustle to get through the season I really try to enjoy it. I like to spend time thinking about the blessings in my life and all those little miracles that God did in my life in the last year. I am sure that many are coming to your mind as you read this... Maybe something that didn't go the way you hoped, but later on turned out to be a huge blessing. Or maybe you just have been too busy to realize that something you've wanted for so long just occurred? Or maybe you are reminded of a true Christmas miracle that happened last year. What ever your blessings and miracles are in your life it is truly the season to remember them. Instead of complaining about the holidays or the shopping or any of the problems this holiday season let's focus on all the wonderful blessings around us. Let's smile to think about the Christmas miracles that are going to happen no matter how small they may seem.

The challenge is to scrap about something you are thankful for this holiday season... it can be current, something from this year or even a miracle from Christmas' past..... If you dont have a picture of it that is okay use any picture that will remind you of the blessing. The most important thing is just to take sometime to scrap, talk with God and be thankful at this wonderful time of year!

Remember your project doesnt have to be a layout it can be pretty much anything...

My scrap twist for you is to use a treasure on your creation - make sure that you tell us why it is a treasure!

Here is my layout:
I really wanted to do a Christmas picture but when I looked through my pictures this one really stuck out to me... so I went with kinda a fall themed layout instead... I figure I have all kinds of holiday layouts I can still create this month...

My blessing is that my daughter and my niece are best buddies with each other... I am blessed that they love each other so much since my sister and I arent very close, they live on opposite sides of the world from each other and they are very different from each other... Still they make a great pair! They are only 4 now but my hope is that they are still friends when they are 40...

My treasure is buttons that belonged to my Great Grandma their Great Great Grandmother... She would have loved these two little ladies so much!!!! When my Great Grandma died my Grandmother inherited her sewing machine... in it she had a whole drawer of buttons... I was over at my Grandmothers house not too long ago and asked if maybe I could have just a couple of buttons to put on a layout... She gave me everything pictured below... the lace is actually hand crocheted by my Great Grandma... I have been very sparingly using the buttons and items... but I figured this was the best layout to use some of them on!

Welcome to Day 7 of our inspiration week!

Merry Christmas! We been having a great inspiration week over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles... different DT members have been sharing projects each day. Wow are the projects amazing... you can head over there right now to see all the posts and join in on the fun... if you just came here from there... I would love to share with you more about my project. I have been making a ton of sugar scrubs to sell in the local handmade Christmas markets. This came about because of our dry skin we get here in the snowy windy environment... I felt like my hands were so dry and that I was getting elephant skin on my elbows and knees... I tried all kinds of lotions and my family told me to try a salt or sugar scrub that were combined with oils. I did and most of them lacked oils or they were too greasy. So I decided to get all kinds of different oils and make a combination that would seep into your skin moisturize it and not leave you greasy. After I got the right combo of oils I tried making all different flavors using natural ingredients and essential oils... I then decided that I not only needed something for my body but for my lips... so I combined several oils to make a good combination for my lips... I was so happy I decided that there must be more people living around here that could benefit from the scrubs.

If you would like to make your own to give as gifts I thought I would share a couple recipes for you to make your own body scrub and lip scrub. This is a really fun gift! The scrubs look sooo cute when put into glass canning jars! I wasnt able to find any glass jars here in Norway that were small enough so instead I had to use plastic but those worked too..... so really any container will work...
Peppermint Sugar Scrub
Santa'a Favorite
1 cup Sugar
6 drops Peppermint oil
2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
1/2 cup of Candy Canes/ or round Mints
1/4 CupOils- (You could use any combination or just one of the following oils... Sunflower Oil, Almond Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Rose Hips Oil, Safflower Oil, Olive Oil or Coconut Oil)
Crush up the candy canes Mix together and store in jar/container. To use take a small portion and rub on your feet, hands elbows and knees... exfoliating dry skin and moisturizing at the same time...
Makes 1 1/2 to 2 cups... about 2-3 jars depending on the size of your jar...
Keeps for 3 months

Vanilla Honey
Sweet Honeybee
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Table Spoon Honey
1/2 teaspoon of ground vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1/8 cup of oils /Any combination or just one of (Vitamin E, Olive Oil, Almond Oil, Castor Oil, and Sunflower Oil)
Mix ingredients together and store in container. Can be stored for 3 months. To use just take a small portion and rub your lips remove with warm water. The sugar will exfoliate your lips taking off any dried skin while the oils lock in the moisture making your lips soft...

Welcome friends to Scrapping Everyday Miracles September Blog hop!!!

One of the biggest blessings is to see my daughter being friends with the children of my friends. I am so close to my friends and wondered many times before my friends and I had kids... if our kids would be as good of friends as we are. Only time will tell if Karianne will stay close to her friends but for now it is such a wonderful blessing from God. In the layout I used two pictures of Karianne and her friend Fredrick which happens to be our neighbors son... they are great friends... Karianne says when she gets big Fredrick is going to be her prince and they will get married. I couldnt think of anything better...heehee!

Christmas Sock Monkey Tags

Eyelet Outlet Step-by-Step Christmas Tags starring Christmas Sock Monkey Brads

1. Cut 3 x 3 squares in a neutral cardstock....

2. Stamp To and From on each of the squares....

3. Cut 3.5 x 3.5 inch squares from printed double sided paper

4. Place the To and From squares on top of the printed squares folding top 1/2 inch of the printed square over the To and From square Glue down both the To and From square and the folded portion

5. Punch a hole through the top of the tag (if you do not want to hang the tag from a present you can skip this step)

6. Attach a piece of twine, ribbon or chain to the tag....

7. Tie a bow out of baker's twine or other type of twine

8. Separate the prongs on the backside of the brad

9. Place the prongs of the bad through each loop on the bow

10. Push each prong through the holes of a button and bend the prongs so both the bow and the brad stay attached to the button

11. Glue the button brad embellishment to the tag...

Hi everyone it is time for another SEM challenge... this challenge is sponsored by Tattered Inspiration which has the best vintage kits... the theme for this challenge was friends through thick and thin... here is the challenge...

It is in our friendships that we often find so many miracles and blessings. We all have people in our lives who come and go, but there are those who stay close no matter what happens. Create a page focusing on the blessing of a friendship that has gone the distance. It can be a friend you've known since high school, or someone you've worked with, or a friend you've met online! Someone who has been there for you through thick and thin. Share what makes the friendship so special that you're thankful to God for bringing them into your life.

Scrap Twist: use a layered title and add something thick and something thin on the layout.

My thick and thin friend is Laura... I met her 15 years ago and she has been there for me through everything... no matter where I have lived! The best blessing is that our families get to be friends... it fills my heart with so much joy to hear my daughter call Laura's kids her friends. This is a picture of our families in Rome this summer!

My thick thing on my layout is the fussy cut flowers that I layered... and the thin is the twine....

I love that God has given my sweet 3 year old the best sense of humor!

I used 2 monkey brads... one on the banner and one wrapped with baker's twine. I used two orange rhinestone brads on the banner. The glasses are new brads just released from Eyelet Outlet. Finally I used teeny tiny white brads along the bottom under the blue trim and a green mini brad on the LOL sticker....

Hi everyone!!!!
I am so glad that you are here for this months Faith Hop... You should have come from Wendy's Blog.... If you just arrived at my blog, you should go to Paper Tree House Studio in order to start at the beginning.If you are wondering what this hop is all about well every month a group of ladies gets together to share what God is doing in our lives and share our wonderful talent God has belssed us with.... This month we are focusing on God's Promises.... and how He is promises to be there for you no matter what you are going through.

Have you been enjoying the others stories about how God is faithful in their lives... well now it is my turn.... I currently live in Norway but before that I lived in Albuquerque New Mexico... we picked a neighborhood on the Northwest side of town in hope that we would have good neighbors and low crime... that was just what the neighborhood was like when we moved in... After a couple months a family with extended family rented the house next store... and to make a long story short.... there were fights, starving kids, US Marshals, drugs, overdoses, police, babies... pure craziness. God told us to love them and show His love to them through it all. The 3 oldest kids started coming to my house to get away from theirs. Finally the family was kicked out after a little more than a year. The kids were left on my doorstep with a note from the mother that asked for them to stay a couple of weeks with us until at least school was out. Summer came and they stayed then school started again and they stayed. We saw the mother about once a week when she could be bothered to show up. During this time my own daughter was born so I went from just my husband and I to having 4 kids. I loved them like they were my own... then my husband got a job in Norway. The mother told us that she wanted us to take them with us.... we got an attorney and she signed them over to us. Then she got in trouble and went to jail... as we waited for our court date... my husband traveled to Norway to do training. I stayed with the kids... for Thanksgiving 2008 I was driving from New Mexico to California with the kids and we had a major car accident in Kingman Arizona... everyone lived by a miracle... one of the boys was thrown from the car and had to be flown ti Loa Vegas to the Children's hospital... one day I can share more about the accident... the same day as the accident the mother got out of jail. Following the accident my family came and got us and took us to California. The mother called and said that she had done a lot of thinking in jail and would miss her kids if they were to go to Norway. She said that she planned to contest the guardianship... the kids stayed in California with my sister while my daughter and I went to Norway to try and find a house for all of us. When my husband, daughter and I returned from Norway to California for Christmas the attorney let us know that he could not move up the court date and we still had to wait until Feb. but the worst part was that since she had filed to contest... the judge would probably not give the children back to her but she would receive visitation which meant that we could live anywhere in the US but not out of the country. There was nothing we could do... and the attorney said we had to give the kids back to the mother. I couldnt even turn the kids over to child protection because they said that she acted responsibly by turning the kids over to someone when she knew she couldnt take care of them.... and now she says she can so she has to be given the chance. God really talked to my husband and I told us that the kids were in His hands that He had given us them for a time and that He would take care of them. I continue to believe that promise... I continue to know that those kids are His and pray that the morals and teaching about God our in their hearts. I will love them forever but God loves them more. We dont really get to have contact with the kids because they never have a working phone. We do talk to the Aunt from time to time on FB but she doesnt do that much with them. So we continue to pray for the kids and miss them. I stand firm though on the promises that God gave us.

Just a note: I wanted to let you know the kids names and their ages just so that you could lift them up in prayer.... Antonia was 12-13 when she lived with us and just turned 16 a couple of days ago... Ramone was 8-9 when he lived with us and he will be 12 in Sept... Anthony was 7-8 and he will 11 next March....

SEM Challenge #4

This is the layout that I created for Challenge #4 over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles...

Here is the challenge...

Music is amazing... you can hear a song, maybe even for the first time, and it can cause emotions to well-up... have you ever had a song that you hear and it just speaks to your heart? Sometimes God uses music to show you His blessings and miracles in your life. Music is a powerful way God can communicate with us. God can use anything, anyone to teach you something new or remind you of something you already know. Create a project that shows how a song inspired you to see a miracle in your life…

Scrap twist: Use fabric somewhere, somehow on your project.

Great Challenge... I chose the song Where the Streets Have No Name by U2... everytime I hear that song I am reminded about Africa... since I was about 16 I dreamed of going to Africa and doing missions. My dream came true in 2001 when I got to go to Nigeria... My trip was cut short due to the fact that I caught Malaria and ended up being very very sick in a Nigerian clinic. My life though was changed forever and I still talk regularly, pray and support the friends I made in Nigeria. I dream of going back with my family and of adopting a baby from Africa... God has given me heart for Africa and especially Nigeria for a reason and I believe that He will guide me and show me how He wants to use me and my family.

As we traveled through the town people wanted us to take there pictures so badly... these kids in the picture were so excited and their parents were literally pushing them into the photo... Next time I will bring a Polaroid type camera so that I can give some of the people their pictures right then. Some of these children said that they had never seen a white person... I used colors in the layout that reminded me of Africa, ribbon from Paper Loves Glue (which is our wonderful sponsor), a fabric button from Purple Pumpkin Crafts and the bottle cap is one that I saved from my soda that I had in Nigeria.... Finally the letters were originally orange (some that American Crafts released for Halloween last year) I wanted them brown so I first painted them brown and then drew with a white pen on some of them and lastly painted them with clear nail polish so that they would be glossy... (little secret nail polish works great to paint letters that you want another color... you can buy it cheap at the dollar store!)

I painted white paint behind the title so that it would stand out more and then I used clear stars stapled behind the stickers just for fun... it is kinda hard to see so I tried to capture it in my close ups....

The best blessing that God ever gave me was my daughter.... she is the amazing little girl and I am truly blessed everyday that I get to spend with her! I cant believe that God gave me the opportunity to be her mother... it simple the best blessing ever!

Free Pretty Little Things and Shabby Blogs

I am sooooooo excited to share these layouts.... I was asked by Keren (who is the owner of Free Pretty Little Things for You and contributes to Shabby blogs) to create three layouts using some of the wonderful images she designs.... It was an amazing opportunity and I am so grateful that she likes my work and would ask me... So here are the layouts...

The first image was a blue tag with a adorable vintage little girl mailing a letter... I enlarged the image to 8x8 and printed it on sticky back canvas... I also used the canvas in making the banner...

The second image was a pink tag with a vintage little girl holding a boutique.... I used it as a 3x3 tag to journal on....

The last image was a reddish/orange tag with a little gnome sitting on mushrooms.... I went a little crazy with the layout but think it was fun in the end.... I actually printed out two tags 5x5 and cut them in half... I used some of the scraps from the sticky back canvas to make the banner....

Challenge #1 at Scrapping Everyday Miracles

So I planned the first challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles... It was to scrap an everyday miracle.... and the scrap twist was to use paint/mist and computer journaling.... Our sponsor is Crafty Paper Girl... it is a brilliant Etsy store that has the most adorable felties.... isnt that owl to die for!!!! Head over to the store to get your own fun feltie!

I never use computer journalling... it was totally fun to do something different and it gave me the opportunity to journal more in a small place....

Here is my layout... the little thing I focused on was how I met my friend Ellyne... I couldnt be more thankful for Ellyne... It was truly one of God's everyday miracles when I met her. I felt no one understood what it was like to come from California and live in Norway above the Arctic Circle. I wished so bad I had a friend I could talk to about the differences, the horrible weather and things back at home. God not only gave me a friend from the US that I could talk to about things but she is from the same place as me.... you can call it coincidence but I call it a miracle!

Unfortunately I couldnt get a picture that showed the details... so I took a couple of detailed pictures to try and capture it better.... I have tulle under the photo and feathers along the branch... I love the branch my 3 year old daughter told her father while they were out on a walk that Mommy needed it... so he broke it off and took it home. So I just had to use it.....

Welcome friends to Scrapping Everyday Miracles Kickoff Blog hop!!!

I am so excited to have you on the hop.... if you just found this post you can start at the beginning at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.

I didnt know what miracle that I wanted to share with for the hop... I feel that there are so many that I would love to share that I dont know where to begin... I was looking through my pictures and I saw this pictures and immediately I wanted to cry. I remembered the moment so clearly that this picture was taken and what God did for me right then. My pregnancy and first few months as a mom where to say the least very very hard. I remember this particular day so clearly... I had just sat Karianne down outside and grabbed the camara and caught the biggest smile. When I looked at the picture that I took my heart melted. God had given me the most wonderful little girl. I knew no matter how hard the last few months had been it was worth it. Everything was going to be okay. It was just one of those everyday miracle moments. I love my little KK so much!!!!!

Her children will arise and call her Blessed. God has blessed with a little girl that daily tells me how much she loves... how special I am... and that I am the best mommy in the world. Crop this Weekend

Blue Light Special over at Cookin Up Creations

The first thing I get to do for Cookin Up Creations is post a Blue Plate Special Challenge.... each day they have a different challenge for on Tuesdays are Technique Tuesdays... Click here to join the forum and check out all the Blue Plate Special Challenges.... you can even win a really fabby prize....

Here we go.....

Todays technique are shaker boxes.... I have two different ones to show you....

First one is used in this layout and is super easy....

I used the packaging from a package of Basic Grey Brads.... what is important here is to add a little water on the edge that you are going to glue down to the layout.... that way you can easily rub away any paper that is still glued on their from the original packaging.

Second we will learn how to make another kind of shaker box... which I made for this layout....

First of all you need to decide what you shape and theme of your box... this works great with diecuts from a machine... but since we dont all have a diecut machine I decided that I would show how to free hand make one.

Second you need to figure out what to use for foam... I have tried the following....
Pre-made cut foam frames that have adhesive on both sides- Pictured on the left (you are confined to their shapes and sizes)
Foam tape cut and placed around the edge- cant use small beads or glitter because they can come out... and you do not have a smooth edge from the side
Cardboard- Works but then you see the cardboard from the side
Kid Craft Foam- Works the best and you can get it in a ton of different colors.... I love to use white because you can color any color you would like....and white usually looks best against the images in the shaker box-Pictured on the right

Next you cut out the background... if you are using a diecut just trace the diecut onto the background paper.... or you can free draw it like I did around the corn that I knew I wanted inside my shakerbox

Now you will want to cut it out of the background paper and trace it onto to the foam and then cut the foam out

You will need to cut out the inside area of the foam so I just drew1/4" on the inside all the ways around... it doesnt have to be perfect... you dont have to measure or anything just eyeball it.... then cut it out. Now we have the foam and the background. Next we want to make the clear cover... what I think is the best is to use plastic from packaging... it is thick and completely clear. You can also use transparencies or even plastic bag packaging but once again these are not as firm as the other plastic. You can see the packaging I used below

You can trace your shape onto the plastic using your background... if you are really good you can hold the background on the plastic and cut around it... now you should have the background, foam and clear cover.

Next you need to make the frame that goes on top... this needs to be cut the most precise because this what you will actually see. You are going to take your background and flip it over and trace it onto the backside of the paper you want to use for the frame... we are working on the backside of the frame because we dont want any of our pencil marks to show. The shape you just traced will not actually be your cut lines... at this point you need to draw the cut lines about 1/8" wider that the background shape.... so that in the end the frame is larger than the background, foam and clear cover.

Cut it out... then you are going to have do like you did with the foam and cut the inner area. Draw your cut lines about 1/4" or slightly more from the edge remember to continue to work on the backside so that you dont see your pencil marks... cut it out

Now we have all our parts so we need to start putting them together... first glue the foam to the background.

Next fill it with the things that you want inside your shaker box... this can be chipboard, beads, buttons, glitter, mica. pretty much whatever you would like.... remember not to fill it too full... if you want to put thicker things you can go go back and cut another layer of foam. Glue the frame to the clear cover and cut away any of the clear cover that hangs out....

Glue the top and the bottom together making sure that none of the beads, etc are in between.... You can take a marker and color around the edge if you would like it to match your frame or just leave it white...

Exciting News- Design Team Call

I am soooo excited to tell you all about the new challenge blog I am starting up... it will go live starting with a blog hop on June 1st.... which will include a ton of prizes that you can win...
But you dont have to wait until June to win a prize... tomorrow I will be posting a giveaway that you can enter right away... super cool huh? Just in case you forget to head over there tomorrow I will make another post tomorrow announcing it.... WHEW!

Anyhow so the blog is called Scrapping Everyday Miracles.... Here is what we are all about...

We are an inspiration challenge blog... we want to encourage you to look at what God is doing in your life and scrap about it. Dollies Challenge- Colors

Karianne's Creations

The following creations were actually made by my daughter Karianne who is 3... She made these for her Grandma and Great Grandma... The first is a layout... she picked the picture from a pile and because it was a Halloween picture I pulled out a Halloween kit... that is why everything coordinates... otherwise if I gave her free reign of the art room it would look like crazy.

She picked the paper first of course it was the one with a scene... then she wanted to paint blue so I gave her the turquiose paint but told her that she couldnt paint over the tree or the monsters.... after the blue paint she wanted the colors of the owl she said so she got purple and black... After the paint we put the picture down and then added the flower stickers... she is really into grouping so that works great for scrapping... then she wanted the pumpkin sticker which had to sit next to the pumpkins in the picture... the jewels were next... they came in a strip but I thought we would cut them and let her place them randomly but no she said she wanted them to stay in a strip and they had to be by Pappa... then she added the buttons... I of course pulled out the letters to make the title but she placed them and then she wanted a bow so I tied her a bow and she placed that too... She then asked for flowers from Mommy's purse... after a lot of confusion I figured out that she wanted the paper flowers that I keep in an organza bag... I picked the flowers and she picked out the color brads she wanted... I put the flowers together and she placed them around the layout.... told her I needed a sticker to write on so she picked out a journal sticker and some candy corn and added them too... Anyhow to say the least I am very proud and think it looks great.... it just shows you how kits help so much!!!!!

The second project is a card... She picked the digital stamped and colored it... this time she had full rein in the art room so she picked paper, sequins, flower and ribbon she liked. We glued it all together with her placing things where she wanted them... We are going to enter her projects in the competition at Simon Says Stamp Challenge and the Kona Kid Krafters...

Cookin Up Creations Challenge 6

Here is my last entry into the Cookin up Creations Crop Chef Challenge....I used gesso and moulding paste on the background to give it texture and to make it look old.... also I painted the dog's paw and stamped it onto the canvas tag....

Ingredients:
- punch out- I punched out the circles to make the pluto banner
- striped patterned paper- 2 pieces one behind the banner and one next to the picture
- layered embellishment- made from fabric yarn button and chipboard bone

Special Ingredient:
- Use Fabric on your creation- canvas tag, embellishments and trim

Technique:
- Tear at least one edge of a photo pr paper- paper sacks are torn as well as the striped paper strips

I found a really cool blog... it is in Russian but it can be translated (that is how I read it). Anyhow it is a blog with a DT that is made up of all men... okay so I wondered how that would be for so long.... it is really cool sooo you should check it out.... the blog is called Scrapbooking by Men. Cookin Up Creations Challenge 5

Hi everyone... I hope you have all joined the giveaway... you have until the end of the month to enter... just click on the picture on the sidebar under the verse of the day...

Here is my submission for the 5th Challenge for Cookin Up Creations Crop Chef competition...this challenge kicked my butt a little.... I dont know why... I think I wanted to go crazy and do something fun with metal mesh (which if you havent worked with it... it is a pain) and just couldnt wrap my head around it. Actually this is the second layout for this challenge... the first one I decided to just use for the blue plate special at Cookin Up Creations... I will post that one second....

Here is what we had to use...clear tile or button- I have two clear buttons... one on the envelope next to the bird and the other next to the chalk
rub ons- Artist (title)
ink or digital stamped image- The bird is stamped and then colored in
scalloped edge- White with black polka dot

mesh - ruffle under the scallop border....You cant tell in the pic but I actually painted the mesh pink... no matter how I photographed it... no luck with getting the color to come out....

stamp a date-stamped on the envelope
paint a border- I painted the white cardstock with black paint and then had my daughter draw with the chalk

Cookin Up Creations Challenge 4

On with the layout that I made for the Cookin Up Creations Crop Chef competition...First here is my background that I made.... (just a side note... the papers and many of the embellishments are from the Feb. Kit over at Artful Delight... April's kit is really great too so check it out...)

Here is what I did...I painted it with gold paint when that dried I painted it with crackle medium and when that dried I painted it with white paint. I then put strips of masking tape on.... I used gold perfect pearls with a little water and painted the shimmer over the masking tape... I took 2 pieces of pattern paper stuck it to the paper w/ claudine hellmucht studio multi-medium when that dried I sprayed the back of the pp with water and started rubbing it away leaving a transfer of the pp.

My finished product...

A doily- Gold and found at a flea market
Hand cut lettering- hand drew and cut the word "those"
Black and white photo- My daughter when she was 2 months old

Special ingredient:
Masking or painters tape- used in making the background

Technique:
Journal around the edge of the photo- Says "You have such beautiful eyes... it's not just Pappa and I that think it... we are stopped by people all the time that just have to tell how beautiful your eyes are..."

And finally, for a BONUS:
Make a mixed font title- Used October Afternoon Alphas, handcut and thickers (that I painted gold)...

Here is mine and unfortunately it has been horribly stormy weather here for the last few days... I have taken pictures every day by opening the backdoor and trying to take the picture... This is the best I could do but of course the colors are bit muted because of the lack of sun... I so badly wanted to get a good picture.... My favorite part is the handmade balloon it was so much fun to sew and make!!!!

Here were our ingredients that we had to use
crown= fabric brad next to word sticker
birthday photos=Karianne's 2nd Birthday
metal= the soda top and the hat pins
dotted paper= The paper under the picture has dots on it
yarn= tied around the hat pin
antique look- dyed tags, vintage bingo piece, doily and lots of lots of inking
stamp a background= used bubble wrap to stamp paint on behind the photos
bonus= sticker- brilliant oval

Cookin Up Creations Challenge 2

I thought I would share with you all the projects I created with the March Kit from Sweet Peach Crop Shop.... IF you havent visited the store yet... you are missing out... Corrie has some amazing kits. The April Kit is already up and ready to be purchased so dont miss out... there are three kits this month and they are to die for.... First here are the projects I did using the March kits...

The first LO is one I created using this months sketch at SPCS... you can still enter the Sketch challenge... just click here..... The morning of the day that I made the layout I found an old Mickey Mouse comic at the flea market. I tore out pages and layered them to make the background....

This one is titled Blueberry Bliss and the pictures were taken last year when we picked wild blueberries in the forest by our house

The next layout is my favorite and very special because it is a pic of my Great Grandma... I printed the picture on canvas and then used a tea bag to make it look more worn... I also used the tea bag to make the blotches on the white background... she actually crocheted the lace that is used...

Here is a card and gift bag combo... The bag is made from the paper sack that the kits arrive in...

The kit contains beautiful rooster feathers... that I used to make this hair accessory... It is kinda fancy but I love it!

This layout I again used the rooster feathers. I also used an old doily that I had gotten at a garage sale.... I love using non-traditional scrap items

I made each of the flowers out of the bloomers from the juicy kit and patterned paper.... I sewed each of the layers to give a cohesive look...

This is a picture of my wearing a traditional Norwegian dress on the 17th of May which is Norway's national day.... I turned the chipboard from 27 to 17 by adding a sticker over the 2... I had fun making all the banners!
