A Great Day at the Farm

I had so much fun today... The DH's fam, DH, DD and I went to a festival/market that they had at a nearby farm. There were animals, a horse and carge ride, crafts for kids, flea market, flower market, food and lots of people selling handmade crafts.  I totally scored big time...I got a ton of plants, fabric, lace, glass jars, a painting and other stuff that I can use in scrapping.  The best part was that I hardly paid anything.  I took a pic of some of the stuff that I got.

I plan to use some of the fabric to make flowers.  I thought the jars would be perfect for storing some more supplies.  A lot of my current containers are stuffed full. 

 The lace was not loose.  One of the pieces was on a little curtain, the other two were on doilies.  I cut off the lace when I got home.  I also got two more doilies that I will use whole on a LO.  I thought they would look really cool.  I even got a package of paper doiles so expect a lot of LOs with doiles to come.  HeeHee

I also got a painting... I thought it was really nice so I had to have it... I dont have any open walls so I have no idea where I am going to put it. 

The plants I got were fab too but I didnt take any pics of them.  I got a black current bush, a black berry, 2 fushias, a begonia and two mystery plants. I dont know what the plants are or what kind of flowers they have so they are mystery plants.  I can't wait to get home to plant the plants and scrap using some of these great finds.... I will post the LOs when I finish them.

Layouts for Challenges ending at the end of the month

I am out of town this weekend visiting the in-laws but before I left I did a couple of LOs for challenges that end on the 31st.  The first is a LO for True XOXO Girls... You had to lift one of their beautiful layouts.  The choice was sooooo hard.  I really liked a bunch of them.  I wanted to lift three of them but only got the chance to do one.  I lifted Zoa's layout... I guess it is more like I was inspired by the layout than lifted it because I think mine came out very different.  Also I found a great tip on Scrap Deals 4U about a tutorial at Crate Paper's blog that shows different types of  paint splatters. I decided to try it on my layout.  Just one more thing I gotta say that I love my title because it is the Pink Ladies Motto....

The picture is not very good.  I was up packing last night at 1am when I remembered that I hadnt taken pictures of the layouts for the challenges ending this weekend.  It was twilight outside (we dont quite have the midnight sun yet) so the pics didnt come out very good.  I will retake the pics when I get home.  I also think that I am going to try to take pictures of my layouts when they are in a stand.  I have seen others take pics this way and   I think they will turn out better that way.  We will see if that helps any in my quest to take better pictures.

The next two layouts are for Top Shelf Memories.  They are celebrating their new blog.  I completed both Challenge One and Two.  For the first challenge you had to use the following sketch.  

For the Second Challenge you had to scraplift a layout from the gallery from April or May.  I chose an April design titled Connie-Barbie-and-Me.  Here is mine....

Uncle Magnus might have a silly nickname that I gave him but that doesnt change the fact that K loves her Uncle soooo much.  Her face lights up when he comes into her room. 

I found a tutorial at A Million Memories.  She shows you how to make all 7 of these flowers that I thought would be fun to share... I think I could use a lot of these on my pages. 

I also found another great idea at Craftfication.  It is a great idea to not throw away the UPC strip!

Candy Shoppe Designs Challenge and Design Dollies DT Call

Over at Candy Shoppe Designs they are giving away a great kit from the Magpie Club.  I did another challenge so I wanted to share it with you.  The challenge was to use flowers so I did.  This challenge runs until the 31st.  I also applied for the DT at Design Dollies and I really wanted to send them this LO but I already had picked 3 projects.  If you are interested in applying for their team you would have to get your application in today!  Anyhow here is the layout....

A Card for Mo's Challenge Blog

How is everyone today?  It has been raining here again today but tomorrow should be nice which means I will plant more in the garden.  I have a card that I would like to share.  I love Mo's Digital Pencil and really wish that I could have each and every one of her stamps but I can't afford that.  Here is my card for this weeks challenge at Mo's Challenge Blog as well as my entry for the Guest Designer Challenge..  For the first challenge you had to make a card that shows love and for the Guest Designer you had to use the following sketch.  I was inspired by the circle so I made a circle card.  So without further ado here is the sketch and card.

I still cant believe all the blog candy out there.... wow!  Anyhow I thought I would share a picture of my little budding artist.... She was so proud.  I can't believe that she will sit for long periods of time coloring.  We have been working hard in the garden this weekend in between rain storms.  Or I guess I should say my husband has been working hard I have been on the computer finding blog candy.  I was told that one of the fast ways to get followers and get your blog noticed was giveaways.  I sure hope so!  I know that if I want to be on a design team I have to have followers and posts... I really want to be on a design team... I think I will begin applying for some soon.  I also really want to get the stamping blog going... everything in time.  I see big blogs and I so wish I was there but you have to start at the bottom and work up.  One day I hope to get something published but that is far from happening right now.   Of course I wanna giveaway some sweet blog candy of my own too!  So many things to think about. 


Oh before I forget I have to share about Scrap Attack's University... They are doing round 6 right now  but I dont know if you can join late.  It is so much fun!  I am learning so many cool things.  I wish I would have been around for rounds 1-5.  Check out there forum.... it is definitely worth it!

Sorry the posts are so short but we have good weather so we have been working in the yard.  I want to get as much done in the garden before I go back to California!  When the garden starts to bloom I will put pictures up here.  The flowers are really neat!

A Few Layouts to Share

So I have to say how excited I am to a few followers.  I scrapped all weekend (including Mon. night) so I have some projects to put up here.  

This is my Granny and I just love this picture so much.  So I can't take total credit for this layout.  My very creative friend actually designed/made a card for me and I decided to use it in the layout.  I figured that it was too nice not too just put in a drawer.  I had the card displayed on my desk and thought I want to use it for something special so I took the stamp design off and added the picture.

This might not be the best layout but one of the "old aunts" just died so I really wanted to a layout that remind me of her.

I like this layout because I made my own chipboard letters.  Go me!

This such a funny layout.  I used to create a challenge called "I can't believe I scrapped that..."


I am trying to learn how to take better scrapbook pictures.  If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me a comment.  

Finally I have a couple more contests for you....

My First Post!

Okay so what do you say on your first post...since you dont have any followers and well I feel like I am talking to myself. I figure why not write the reasons that I wanted to start this blog and then I can look back and see how things have all worked out later. So...
1. I want a place to display my work so that friends and family can come see it
2. I am a contest addict so I need a blog to enter a lot of them...
3. I surf a lot of blogs each day and find out all kinds of cool things that I think would be of interest to others
4.  Being out in the blogging community you meet a lot of people and I am often asked "What is the name of your blog?"
5.  I would like to join a design team and have my own design team possibly
6  This will be the first of the blogs I want to have... right now I am thinking of having a few more....
7.  Gives me something to do that I will like!
I hoped I could get to 10 but I think 7 is good enough....
